UVX INSECT SHIELD BALACLAVA MOSSY OAK
The ultimate in streamlined coverage, the updated UVX Insect Shield® Balaclava features an ultra-lightweight UVX fabric that wicks and dries quickly with greater two-way stretch and recovery for all-day comfort and protection from harmful UV rays. This versatile balaclava is thin enough to allow range of motion, yet provides thermal protection when needed. A contoured design with bonded seams and stretchy tape fits over the shoulders, back of the neck and upper chest for ultimate UV protection. This balaclava also boasts laser-cut breathing holes to allow moisture to escape and is enhanced with built-in Insect Shield® Protection™ that repels mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers and midges.

A special four-channel fiber forms a transport system that pulls moisture away from the skin to the outer layer of the fabric. It then dries that moisture faster than any other fabric to thermoregulate the body.

Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) measures the amount of UV radiation that penetrates a fabric and reaches your skin. A fabric rated with a UPF of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun’s UV rays to pass through. In other words, it blocks 49/50ths or 98% of the UV radiation. UPF 50+ is the highest possible rating. Samples of fabrics have been tested for UV protection by LEITAT—Textile Technology Institute in accordance with the standard AS/NXS4399:1996 “Sun protective clothing--Evaluation and Classification.”
